This British Standard specifies requirements which are generally applicable to mechanical and electromechanical indicators for use in aircraft. It is to be read in conjunction with specifications for individual indicators and the relevant requirements of BS 3G 100.

For the purpose of this standard, an indicator is regarded as a unit primarily concerned with the visual display of information.
