This standard relates to separate millimetre and inch series of locknuts, “C?? type, socket set screw locking, for use on machine tools and their auxiliary equipment.

NOTE “C?? type locknuts are those for use with a hook spanner2) (“C?? spanner).

The millimetre series is suitable for threaded components of diameter 10–125 mm and the inch series for threaded components of diameter ½–5 in.

NOTE All the millimetre dimensions in this specification relate to the millimetre series and all the inch dimensions to the inch series.
