    Measurement of colour and of colour after heat treatment. Determination of water content, ash, acidity to phenolphthalein, ester content (and saponification or ester value), viscosity, matter oxidizable by potassium dichromate, density at 20°C, crystallizing point, refractive index and flash point.

    This British Standard describes general methods of test applicable to organic ester type plasticizers containing only carbon, hydrogen and oxygen but excluding esters of phenols and esters of hydroxy-acids.
