This Section describes a method for the visual assessment of the effects on soling materials of short-term contact with a hot surface. This method enables the assessment of the suitability of soling materials for footwear which is used in situations where brief contact with hot objects is likely.
This test should not be used for assessing the effects of long-term exposure at elevated temperatures.
