This Section of BS 5173 describes a method of determination of the volumetric expansion of hydraulic hoses. The basic principles are similar to those described in BS 5173-102.2 but the test described in this Section is more appropriate to hydraulic hoses. It is a specialized test and should be carried out only at the specific request of the purchaser.
NOTE 1 This Section of BS 5173 does not specify the test pressure at which the test will be carried out. The test pressure will be specified in the appropriate hose product specification.
