This Section of BS 5173 describes a method of test which is primarily applicable to gas cutting and welding and similar hoses to determine the ignitability of the lining.
NOTE 1 For the purpose of this test, ignition is the initiation of combustion, which is the destruction by oxidation with the production of heat, usually with incandescence or flame, or both. NOTE 2 The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back page.
