This Part of BS 5350 describes a climbing drum peel test for the determination, under specified conditions, of the resistance of joints to perpendicular peel stresses on the adhesive layer. It is applicable to the testing of joints between an outer metal sheet and the core of sandwich assemblies, e.g. honeycomb or other composites.
This test is intended for ranking and quality control of adhesives and not for obtaining data for design purposes.
