Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Describes safety requirements for LUNG VENTILATORS with electrical devices designed for medical use. Non-electrical requirements, and some safety requirements, are given in ISO 5369 - 1977: Breathing machines for medical use - Lung ventilators. Includes sections on protection against electric shock, mechanical hazards, excess radiation, explosions in medically used rooms, excess temperatures, fire etc., accuracy of operating data and protection against incorrect output, fault conditions, mechanical damage, environmental tests, and constructional requirements.
