Colour, colour after heat treatment, density at 20°C, refractive index, water content, ash, acidity, saponification. Viscosity, matter oxidizable by potassium dichromate (BS 1955, BS 2536) and sucrose test (BS 574, BS 1996, BS 3647). Sucrose test and summary of requirements appended.
