This British Standard specifies capacities, dimensions and constructional requirements for a range of oblong flat-top cans manufactured from tinplate with nominal filling volumes between 125 ml and 5 litres, intended to contain liquid products. Closure and, where relevant, handle positions are specified but not the type of closure or handle.

NOTE 1. Appendix A gives recommendations on details to be agreed between purchaser and supplier.
