Section 2 applies to a time reference (80 bit time code according to IEC Publication 461) located on a track half-way between the two audio tracks of a 6.3 mm wide professional twin track magnetic tape for use at a tape speed of 19 cm/s or 38 cm/s.
Section 3 applies to an address code in the form of intentional pauses within a programme for the automatic recognition of individual parts of the programme.
Section 2. Time and control code (IEC publication 461) for 6.3 mm wide twin track audio tape
2 General test conditions
The characteristics of the equipment shall be measured under the following conditions:
- – at rated mains voltage;
- – at rated mains frequency;
- – ambient temperature between 15 °C and 35 °C;
- – relative humidity between 45 % and 75 %;
- – at 86 kPa to 106 kPa atmospheric pressure;
- – after at least 10 min operation.
