A Procedure for sampling

Describes a method for determination of breaking strength of yarn by the skein method, applicable to spun single and folded yarns of any fibre or mixture of fibres manufactured by any spinning system. Not for testing filament yarns, glass yarns, cabled yarns or cords, yarns that stretch more than 5% when the tension increases from 0,5 to 1,0 cN per unit of linear density of the yarn in tex, those yarns having a diameter so great as to prevent the winding of the skein in two even layers. With suitable precautions, the skeins broken in this test may be used for the determination of linear density.
