Specifies dimensions together with construction and design requirements for collapsible cage pallets intended for use for the transit, storage and merchandising of up to 300 kg of goods. Performance requirements including the capability to be interstacked, are assessed by means of specified type tests.

This Part of BS 6407 specifies dimensional, constructional and design requirements, including the capability to be interstacked, together with type test performance requirements, for collapsible cage pallets intended for use for the transit of up to 300 kg of goods and the storage and merchandizing of these goods at retail outlets.

Materials and surface finishes are not specified. It may be necessary to ensure that the material and/or surface finish of the cage pallet is compatible with certain goods and this should be a matter for contractual agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser.
