METHODS OF ANALYSIS OF FATS AND FATTY OILS - PART 2 - OTHER METHODS - SECTION 2.49 - DETERMINATION OF STIGMASTADIENES IN VEGETABLE OILS - METHOD USING CAPILLARY-COLUMN GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY
13-09-2001
23-11-2012
Determines stigmastadienes in virgin vegetable oils having low concentrations of these hydrocarbons, especially in virgin olive oil. Covers all vegetable oils, however, measurements can only be relied upon where content of these hydrocarbons is between 0,01 mg/kg and 4,0 mg/kg. The procedure is appropriate for detecting the presence of refined vegetable oils, such as palm, olive, sunflower, olive pomace, etc, in virgin olive oils, because refined oils have stigmastadienes, and cold-extracted oils do not.
