This technical report describes a digital audio peak level indicator for professional and consumer use to indicate the peak levels of sampled and quantized audio signals.

The purpose of this technical report is to establish a basic plan for standards development concerning the characteristics to be specified and the relevant methods of measurement for a digital audio peak level meter.
