Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Mean and limiting values are given for chemical composition, porosity, dimensional stability, strength and other properties which may be relevant to particular applications. Tolerances on dimensions and limits on defects are also given.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

This British Standard specifies the chemical and physical requirements and dimensional tolerances for alumino-silicate refractories that in the fired state contain 30 % to 45 % alumina, and are for use in coke oven construction.

It specifies the methods of sampling, testing and analysis to be used for bricks and shapes of alumino-silicate material.

NOTE The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover.
