This International Standard specifies the performance requirements and location for a key-locked starting system or other equivalent means of obviating unauthorized starting of earth-moving machinery.
It applies to all types of earth-moving machinery as defined in ISO 6165.
This International Standard is not intended to provide protection to the authorized machine operator, nor to protect the machine against abuse, destructive vandalism, or theft.
