Defines requirements for almandite garnet abrasives, supplied for blast-cleaning processes. Describes ranges of particle sizes and values for apparent density, Mohs hardness, moisture content, and conductivity of aqueous extract and water-soluble chlorides. Only to be applied to abrasives in new condition - not applicable to abrasives either during or after use. WARNING: Equipment, materials and abrasives used for surface preparation can be hazardous if used carelessly. National regulations exist for those considered hazardous during or after use (waste management), for example, free silica or carcinogenic or toxix substances. The regulations should be observed, and it is important to ensure that adequate instructions are given and precautions implemented.
