Describes requirements and testing which can be applied to those aspects of electronic navigational aids common to all such equipment required to be carried on board ships, by Regulation 12 of Chapter V of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974 as amended. Not intended to prevent the use of new techniques provided the facilities offered are not inferior to those stated. Covers object, layout, operation, power supply, durability and resistance to environmental conditions, interference, maintenance, safety, equipment handbooks and equipment labelling.
