This Part of BS 7370 gives recommendations for dealing with general maintenance and minor repairs to hard areas (excluding sports surfaces). It does not cover major repairs which may involve redesign, but does cover reinstatements after disturbance.

NOTE Roads that are the responsibility of the Highway Authority are not covered, nor are reinforced ground, or water courses.
