This British Standard gives recommendations for the design, installation and configuration of intrusion and hold-up alarm systems (I&HASs) that incorporate alarm confirmation technology, where such I&HASs have signalling systems that signal to an alarm receiving centre (ARC) and require a police response. It includes recommendations intended to minimize the likelihood of false alarms. It is intended to be read in conjunction with BSEN50131 (as implemented by PD6662). If HUA confirmation is to be included in the installation, then the relevant clauses of this standard apply. NOTE HAS alarm confirmation may be used as required in the ACPO/ACPOS Security Systems policies [1] [2].
