This British Standard gives recommended practices for repairing laminated windscreens damaged by impacts. It applies to heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), coaches and passenger cars.

Recommendations include:

  1. the type and size of damage that can be repaired;
  2. the area on the windscreen in which repairs of particular types and size can be made;
  3. procedures for the repairer;
  4. steps to assess the quality of finished repairs;
  5. reports and records for completion and retention by the repairer.

This standard does not apply to special types of glazing such as bullet-resistant glazing and glass–plastics glazing.
