This British Standard gives recommended practices for repairing laminated windscreens damaged by impacts. It applies to heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), coaches and passenger cars.
Recommendations include:
- the type and size of damage that can be repaired;
- the area on the windscreen in which repairs of particular types and size can be made;
- procedures for the repairer;
- steps to assess the quality of finished repairs;
- reports and records for completion and retention by the repairer.
This standard does not apply to special types of glazing such as bullet-resistant glazing and glass–plastics glazing.
