This Subsection of BS AU 50-4 specifies contours and dimensions of rims for use with code-designated series tyres used on industrial vehicles. Requirements for such tyres are specified in BS AU 50-1.5.1:1994. Requirements for rim construction and workmanship are specified in BS AU 50-2.0:1979.

SAFETY NOTE. The wheel manufacturer should also be consulted to determine whether the rim and wheel is of sufficient strength for the intended service. In particular, care should be taken to ensure that the wheel will withstand the maximum pressure of any tyre that can be fitted in accordance with BS AU 50-1.5.1:1994. This pressure may exceed 1 000 kPa (10 bar) for both diagonal and radial tyres.
