Explains requirements for automatic roller-type couplings for semi-trailers in the range 7 tons to 14-3/4 tons laden weight having a maximum imposed operating weight on the rollers of 5-3/4 tons. Rollers should be plated for a maximum design imposed weight of 6-1/4 tons to provide a loading tolerance.
