A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.
ELECTRICAL APPARATUS & ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES OF GAS OR VAPOUR OTHER THAN MINING APPLICATIONS - DIVISION 2 AREAS
15-12-1993
23-11-2012
Explains the classification of a Div. 2 area and the choice, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment where safety in these areas can be achieved by depending on the improbability of the simultaneous occurrence of a flammable atmosphere and an ignition source. Precautions which may be necessary to take against the effects of static electricity are outside the scope of this Code. Covers definitions, considerations affecting choice, use and installation, work on site, periodical electrical tests and operational and maintenance factors.
