This draft provides a method for the recovery of bitumen binders from pavements and from similar bituminous materials in a form suitable for further testing. Only suitable for the recovery of bitumens of measurable penetration. If the method is applied to materials containing binders other than bitumen the results obtained from tests carried out on the recovered binder may not be meaningful. Covers definitions, principle, apparatus, solvents and materials, test procedure, preparation of the binder for testing and test report.
