    Establishes a calculation model to estimate the sound insulation or the sound pressure level difference of a facade or other external building surface. The calculation is based on the sound reduction index of the different elements from which the facade is constructed, and includes direct and flanking transmission.

    This document describes calculation models designed to estimate the reduction of outdoor sound by facades of buildings, primarily on the basis of measured data which characterizes the sound reduction index of the relevant elements. The models given are applicable both to calculations in frequency bands and to calculations with single number ratings of the products.
