Defines a procedure for use in visual examinations for the assessment of surface discontinuities of steel castings made in conventional sand moulds. Not applicable to steel castings manufactured by the resin-shell-investment and other precision moulding methods. Specifies several categories of discontinuities and severity levels within each of these categories.
