    Describes requirements for the construction, performance, testing and safety specifications for general purpose self service basket trolleys, fitted with a baby and/or child carrying facility(ies) for use by customers of self service stores to carry goods.

    This document specifies requirements for the construction, performance, testing and safety specifications for general purpose self service basket trolleys, fitted with a baby and/or child carrying facility(ies) for use by customers of self service stores to carry goods. This document applies to basket trolleys conforming to EN 1929-1 with the following arrangements: ¾ One baby carrying facility; ¾ Two baby carrying facilities; ¾ One baby carrying facility, one child carrying facility; ¾ Two child carrying facilities. This document applies to manually driven trolleys that are not intended for use on passenger conveyors. The technical characteristics of accessories (see 3.8 of EN 1929-1:1998) are not covered by this document.
