This standard specifies a method for determining the resistance of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes to dichloromethane at a specified temperature (DCMT). This standard is applicable to PVC-U pipes, irrespective of their use. The method can be used as a rapid means of quality control during manufacture. NOTE The temperature of the dichloromethane at which PVC-U shall not be attacked, is specified in the referring standard.
