A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

It does not include conventional requirements for electrical installations, nor the testing and certification of electrical apparatus. It does not cover Group I apparatus (applications for mines susceptible to firedamp). It does not cover the alternative of \'Continuous supervision by skilled personnel\'.
