Concerned with the standard conditions and methods of measurement on television receivers which conform to the terrestrial broadcast television standards defined by the ITU-R, for use for direct off-air reception, reception by cabled networks, or as a monitor for prerecorded video, home movies and games among other uses. Assesses determination of performance and allows the comparing of equipment by means of listing the characteristics for specifications and defining uniform methods of measurement for these characteristics. Does not include performance requirements or safety matters.
