    Applicable to optical fibre amplifiers (OFAs) using active fibres which contain rare-earth dopants, currently commercially available. Specifies uniform requirements for accurate and reliable measurements, using the optical power meter test procedure of OFA parameters, as specified in clause 3 of future IEC IEC 61291-1.
