Defines dimensional and gauging requirements for cones and sockets intended for connecting anaesthetic and respiratory equipment, e.g. in breathing systems, anaesthetic gas scavenging systems, and vaporizers.

The only changes to the scope are: the inclusion of 11,5mm cones and sockets and; a definitive statement that as this standard is a dimensional, reference standard these cones and sockets are not devices in their own right. As such they cannot meet the Essential Requirements of the Medical Device Directive or be CE marked. There is therefore no Annex ZA.
