Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Addresses the collection and presentation of data required to understand the reliability features of a component. Guides users on specifying their reliability requirements to manufacturers. No distinction is made between data on operation or failures without failures or faults. Information from laboratory tests should be available to the designers, so they can evaluate reliability of circuits and systems.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Describes the information needed for characterizing reliability of a component, and also the detailed requirements for reporting reliability data. Gives guidance to component users as to how they should specify their reliability requirements to component manufacturers. The data, derived from laboratory tests, should enable circuit and equipment designers to evaluate the reliability of circuits and systems.
