Defines the minimum security requirements of the life cycle of a Secure Application Module (SAM) for adding to a Card Accepting Device (CAD). The SAM supplies application-related and cryptographic security information to process a financial transaction. Permits interaction between an Integrated Circuit Card (ICC) and a SAM so as to be functionally transparent to the Card Accepting Device (CAD).
