Covers the principles and methodologies of measuring both gas open porosity and permeability of hydraulic binder-based matrices used for immobilization of radioactive waste. These measurements can be actioned bu means of different apparatus designed and constructed on the basis of a few recommended characteristics. The measurements can be performed on samples in a laboratory or from industrial production. Samples can be accessed by moulding or by coring a block.
