This International Standard specifies the methodology for testing the crevice corrosion of stainless steels and related alloys when exposed to oxidizing chloride environments. Existing standards designate only plate type for specimens of crevice corrosion test, which makes it difficult for tube/rod type products to be applied directly. This standard allows to measure critical crevice temperatures of tube/rod type specimens equal to those of plate type ones made up of the same material.
