Aims to facilitate international communication in data processing. Presents, in two languages, terms and definitions of selected concepts relevant to data processing and identifies relationships between entries. To facilitate translation into other languages, definitions are drafted so as to avoid any peculiarity attached to a language. Deals with main areas of data processing, including principal processes and types of equipment, representation, organization and presentation of data, programming and operation of computers, peripheral equipment and data communication, as well as particular applications. Deals with basic concepts and essential terms commonly used in data processing community.
