This International Standard is intended to serve as a reference for punch users and manufacturers.

NOTE1 The figures are given only as examples to illustrate the terminology.

NOTE2 In addition to terms used in English and French, two of the three official ISO languages, this International Standard gives the equivalent terms in German and Italian; these are published under the responsibility to the member bodies for Germany (DIN) and Italy (UNI), and are given for information only.
