Defines a commentary explaining the general philosophy and factors on which the test defined in ISO/DIS 5825-1 has been designed, for description of the limitations of its scope, for provision of some general guidance for those using the test results, and for emphasis of certain practical procedural aspects for those implementing the test. All involved with testing fire doors should read this commentary prior to initiating the test and using the test results.
