This standard applies to all broadband amplifiers used in cable distribution systems; it covers the frequency range 5 to 3000 MHz; it applies to equipment for unidirectional and bidirectional systems; it establishes the basic methods for measuring the operational characteristics of active equipment in order to evaluate their performance; it identifies the performance specifications to be published by manufacturers; and it establishes minimum performance values for certain parameters.
