La Norma riguarda i cavi non schermati caratterizzati da 1 MHz fino a 100 MHz e destinati al cablaggio, come definito nella EN 50173, sia di aree di lavoro per la connessione di prese di telecomunicazioni ad apparecchi terminali sia di cordoni di collegamento utili a stabilire connessioni con un pannello di distribuzione.
