A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

This Variant, which implements EN 60309-1/A1 of April 2007, modifies most of the articles of the basic Standard, and in particular Article 11, as a consequence of the extension of the scope of application to devices with screwless and insulation piercing terminals, with a nominal current limit of 16 A.
