This standard applies to non-automatic, general-purpose switchgear for alternating current only, with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A, intended for household and similar purposes, both indoors and outdoors, intended for use at 50 Hz unless otherwise specified and at an ambient temperature normally not exceeding 25 °C but occasionally up to 35 °C.
