The European Standards of the EN 60875 series, derived, without any modification, from the corresponding IEC Standards (IEC Subcommittee 86B), apply to fiber optic branching devices having all of the following general characteristics: -they are passive (they do not contain optoelectronic elements or other transducers); -they have three or more ports for the input and/or output of optical power, which is divided in a predetermined way; -the ports are optical fibers or optical fiber connectors.
