This standard addresses immunity requirements and test methods for electrical and electronic equipment, under operational conditions, to oscillatory waves represented by non-repetitive damped oscillatory transients (ring waves) occurring in low-voltage power, control, and signal lines in residential, commercial, and industrial areas, as well as in equipment power and control circuits, and also to repetitive damped oscillatory transients occurring primarily in power, control, and signal cables installed in high- and medium-voltage substations.
