FASC 13933 E. La Norma stabilisce prescrizioni uniformi per compensatori di dispersione cromatica passivi. Essa si applica a dispositivi di questa natura che presentano le caratteristiche di essere otticamente passivi, di avere un ingresso e un'uscita ottica per la trasmissione di potenza ottica, di avere come porte o delle fibre ottiche oppure dei connettori per fibra ottica, di essere sensibili alla lunghezza d'onda e infine di poter essere sensibili alla polarizzazione.
