This document discusses optical internal arc detection devices (hereinafter referred to as IACDs), which are designed to: • detect internal arcs in electrical panels and low-voltage switchgear, processing (at least) the optical effect of an internal arc; • operate a mitigation device (external or combined) to minimize the effects of the internal arc.
