This Standard deals with rigid high-voltage gas-insulated (GIL) transmission lines in which insulation is obtained, at least in part, with an insulating gas or mixtures of gases other than air at atmospheric pressure, for alternating current, rated voltages in excess of 52 kV and frequencies up to and including 60 Hz. The Standard is to be used in cases where the requirements of EN/IEC 62271-203 are not applicable.
